I had ingrown toenail surgery yesterday, and i took the bandage off this morning, it’s very swallon and red, how long will it take till it goes down? and should i put ice on it or something?

How long does it take to go from normal toenails to ugly ones if you catch a toenail fungus? A few weeks? months? years? Also, how can you tell it is starting to get infected?
