I did not get the chance to go to a podiatrist, just the clinic. I got it removed, and it left a hole in my nail bed where he cut the toe nail out. He cut out more than a third of the toenail and it took a good week before I felt comfortable wearing shoes.
It has healed very slowly and still looks very disfigured. Recently, a crack in the toenail above the hole has formed and has slowly peeled away painfully.
Now, in October, I went to a podiatrist to see about my other toe which was also infected. He cut the toenail in a much more effective and cleaner way. It was healed in 2 day’s time.
I’m wondering, what did the doctor do wrong with the procedure?
