So I had an ingrown toenail on my big toe and I cut out the shard on my own. After words I went to my doctor because it was infected and he put me on antibiotics and told me to soak it in warm water mixed with Epsom salt. After about a week it seems to be healing up but in the surrounding area where I cut the shard out it is still very tender and painful to the touch. Is this just due to the general infection or is something else going on that needs a return trip to the doctor?

I have a ingrown toenail and it is extremely painful.I might go to the doctor but I first want to see if I can do anything anything at home to remove the ingrown toenail.I'm 13 of age and if I go to the doctor will it be painful when they try to remove the nail?
and it is swollen and red/whitesh and sometimes it bleeds and pus comes out.

I've been walking anywhere from 7 - 10 miles 7 days a week for three months now. My toes had started to hurt. Never being an athlete, I had no idea about painful feet. Til now. Now I look closer and two toenails are discolored and the skin under one is red and swollen. So now I know I've got a serious problem, and it's Saturday, Dr's are off, and I would like to cure this myself.

Please advise the best method of treatment to cure this fast! I don't want to stop walking. I'm doing so good on my walking program! I've lost 15 pounds and about 10 inches! In three months.

I had been walking on some damp grass a few times as it had rained. I walk on uneven terrain, which I felt was better than the cement. But I think my shoes got wet and then the heat and humidity combined is probably laid the ground for a serious infection under my toenails. I need advice and fast! Many thanks in advance.

should i clean it with alcohol or just leave it alone?

My husband has suffered from a re-occuring toe nail fungus condition for many years. He's tried lamisil and a couple of other similar products we saw in stores, but nothing seems to work. His toenails are getting more yellow in color and uglier. Any suggestions on a more effective toenail fungus treatment product? Please advise. Thanks for your help.
