I had some discoloration (fungus?) under my toenail and now it looks like a new one is growing underneath to take the old nails place. Has this ever happened to anyone?

I just got two removed in the same two.
It hurt REALLY badly.
Even though i got FOUR freaken numbing shots it still hurt like fuck.

Was it supposed to hurt so bad?
My mom was with me while i was muffling my moaning (moaning in pain you perverts.)
and she treated me like i was five and was holding my hand -_-

I have a big bandage around it and i don't take it off till tomorrow.
Im going to ask the questions i should have asked in the first place instead of ramblin-here are the questions -_-

(A) how long will it take for the sides of my toenail to grow back to normal?
(B) Will it hurt very badly tomorrow?
(C) Should it have hurt, not the needle but when he removed it?
(D) Will i be able to walk without pain tomorrow?

Is there anything out there that will help? I can't take the pills for it (besides it would take 4 months and probably wouldn't even work) as I have a health condition that prohibits it. Is there anything OTC out there that anyone has tried that actually worked? My toenail is so thick i can barely cut it! Now *that* is nasty! HELP!

My bf has blackish discoloration under his toenails but only at the tips and the nails are not thickened. The discoloration is hard to scrub out, like it's stained so it's not dirt or anything like that, but it does eventually come off but comes back in about 3-5 days. He's been using Vick's on his nails for about a month and his nail bed turned purplish and every few days a very little amount of blackish dirt looking stuff comes up from the cuticles and sides of the nails and it hard to remove.

The Vick's treatment seems to be working but I'm concerned that since he self diagnosed himself and that the problem my not be nail fungus but some other kind of medical problem. Has anyone ever have nail fungus without nail thickening and just discoloration under the tips of the nails??

Someone stepped on my toe really hard about a year ago, and since then, the nail has died and started to fall off. I went to the doctor yesterday and she said that I might have to get it removed. I'm going to a podiatrist later today. Is toenail removal painful? And will I not be able to exercise? Because I'm really active and I can't sit out. Any info would be great.

My right foot toenail had fungus growing about four years ago. I accidently hit my toe on the couch and it ended falling off. It grew again and it looked healthy and clean... until recently. Its starting to grow fungus again. Its only on my right big toe. Its a little less than half. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem. I dont want to hurt my nail again hah. I was reading something about Vicks Vapor Rub, but will it work on my toe? Should I just wait? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I have what has to be the worst case of toenail fungus... I've ha it since i was like in my early teens and never had the guts to show anyone. I've had to miss out on pool parties and beach trips. Now I'm almost 30 and desperate. Is there a cure for it even though its been so long? My nails don't even look like nails. I wanna enjoy flip flops and swimming pools! Please help. I have two babies and when they grow up and wanna have pool parties i don't wanna be the wierdo mom who wont participate. If there is a cure is it expensive? God knows i can't afford anything. Please help. Other than my toenails I'm pretty!
