permanent, but he did it so I'm not sure on how objective he's being. I'm sooo scared! I'll die if I can't wear real shoes or walk normally again. What's your guess? Does the swelling usually go down? What percentage of the time does it stay and is it surgically correctable if not?I'll go 4 a 2nd opinion, but I can't wait til then to stop worrying!

Has anyone had the corrective surgery for hammertoes and if so were you better off afterwards?? How was the recovery, etc.... I have 3 middle toes that need correcting...

I'm getting ready to surgery on my foot. They will be removing/fixing a bunion, a tailor's bunion, and 3 hammertoes. Sounds like a lot huh? Well, anyway, as much as I am looking forward to my foot not hurting, I am wondering if anyone else has had this and give me some advise?? Pros? Cons? What to do and not to do for during recovery time?

Do they give you surgery or medicine?
What ever they do does it hurt?
I'm asking because i have to go to a doctor about it and i am asking anybody from experience who has had one what they do

I'm 25 and having bunion removal surgery and hammertoe surgery on my right foot done in a couple weeks. I have very large bunions on both feet and ideally wanted to get both feet done at the same time but my Doctor advised to get one done at a time. I'm hoping to get the left foot done asap, maybe even while the right is still healing. Anyone out there had bunion surgery? How long did you have to keep off your feet? Were you satisfied with the surgery? How was the pain? I'm wondering how long it's going to be until I can get back to work. My husband and I also are going on a Caribbean cruise in November and I hope I'm fully healed by then.

My mom has recently undergone three toe surgeries in order to fix her hammertoes and bunions. The first two times, bad implants were put into the toes, which resulted in too much scar tissue and extreme swelling. The third time, the new doctor removed the implants, but now one of the toes is too short. The new doctor is afraid to elongate the toe by putting in more implants for fear of the occurence of more scar tissue. Do you think that something can be done to correct the one extremely short toe?

I had hammertoe surgery and bunion surgery in January. My doctor told me to exercise my tendons so that my toes can bend. I can bend all my toes except my 2nd and third toe. It hurts really bad when I do the exercises, so I am wanting to know what else can I do to help with the bending of my toes. Can I soak in hot water or is it best to keep trying to bend and elevating with ice? How long will it be b4 I can bend my toes good?

just wondering (and does any place sell medical dress shoes that actually look nice and not like what my grandma wears? I am female by the way, if that helps you to answer the shoe question)

it does right before ur foot falls alseep..been consistently like this since surgery.My doc is very critical,defensive, and self-riteous so I don't really trust his answer but he said my circulation is tryint to adjust to it's new form now that my toes r so much flatter.Intuitively I feel like they should hav felt this way 4 just the first few days after surgery..not14 but I've never had this so I don't know..am really scared. May go confirm w/ the Doc. on call today.It will cost $$ + I don't feel like putting my protective shoes on to get there cuz they irritate my toes.I no ur not a doc but what would u do?
