What’s it like getting an ingrown toenail removed?

I have an ingrown toenail, I’m gonna go to the doctor and get it removed, but what’s it like?
Do they usually keep you awake?
I’m scared, I’ve never had any type of surgery before.

Is this like a minor surgery or sumthin?

Local anesthetic injection, retract the edge of the nail, trim it, clean up, offer antibiotic and pain reliever.

I’m constantly getting them and removed over and over again by now I’m used to it but depending on how bad it is they might have to give you a needle to numb it, my foot doctor didn’t have to give me a needle so i honestly couldn’t tell you how that part felt but when its getting pulled out without it numbed it hurts a little bit. i actually pinched my leg so that i couldn’t feel it sounds crazy but its true! lol

good luck, you will be fine! also to see videos and stuff you should checkout youtube.com but idk if you would want to get all freaked out bc its really not that bad! ;)
