I suggest treating it internally with all-natural Optiflora and Garlic Complex. This has helped others with this condition. Frequently when something is going on inside our bodies it can manifest itself to the outside in some form.

Optiflora – This two-product system uses new technology to protect beneficial microflora during the rigors of shipping, storage, and the acidic journey through your stomach. This system includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus…microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS…food source for microflora). Patented guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines.

Also, Garlic Complex – neutralizes most fungi. It’s a natural antibiotic/anti-inflammatory and has a positive effect on infection.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions or the website.

Treatment may begin with your doctor removing as much of the infected nail as possible. This can be done by trimming the nail with clippers, filing it down, or dissolving it away with a paste that contains urea and bifonazole.

If the infection is mild and limited to a small area of your nail, your doctor may prescribe a medicated nail polish containing either amorolfine (Loceryl) or ciclopirox (Loprox). You should apply the nail polish twice a week until your nail is cured.

If the infection is in a wider area of your nail, or several nails, your doctor will prescribe an oral antifungal medication, such as itraconazole (Sporanox) or terbinafine (Lamisil). Either itraconazole or terbinafine can be taken daily for 12 weeks, or a higher dose of itraconazole can be taken for one week per month for three months. Both itraconazole and terbinafine occasionally cause troublesome side effects, and itraconazole has the potential to produce serious drug interactions.

In very severe cases, when toenail fungus is resistant to treatment, it may be necessary to remove the nail surgically.

It takes a long time. You need to be on antibiotics for 6 to 8 weeks.

My husband uses Iodine around and under his tonails. It kills the fungus, but it takes time. We are on about week 2 and they are getting better, but like I stated, it takes time.

    Good Luck!

Six months of oral fungicide prescribed by doctor.

It’s really hard! You can get prescription lotion from your doctor or they have a pill you can take. Either way it can take months to clear up. I am not aware of any over the counter treatment that works.

LOOK when they have gone that far. THE Dr has medicine you take internally. YOU need to see your Dr SOON.

You have a real problem. The only drug that is effective (griseofulvin) can wreck your liver so even if they prescribe it they will keep checking for liver damage which is enough to creep you out. The topical ones you put on by yourself are worthless. The fungus lives under your nail bed and the topical ones can’t get through the nail to reach it there (no matter what they say on TV in the commercials). BTW it is a fungus so antibiotics don’t help.

The drug treatment is to use it for a year until all the damaged part has grown out and there is only beautiful healthy nail growing. When the last of that ugly nail is clipped off you feel great about your toenails. That lasts for a month or so and then you notice that you have a new infection starting there and you are heading back to where you were the year before.

emu oil and tolfanate! Emu oil is the #1 prescription that doctors
have found that will penetrate the toenail or fingernail. This means that the most

powerful fungus killer- tolfanate can get to the source and eliminate toenail fungus

including thick, black, yellow toe nails!.

    VICKS Vaporub works wonders!!!!!!
Sound goofy, but I work in a hospital and I’ve had several nurses tell me about it. So I told my husband about it and he started using that every night before bed, instead of his $80.00 cream he got from the podiatrist(foot dr.) and his toenails are growing in clear again. He’s been using it for about 3 weeks now. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! It’s worth a try if you’ve tried everything else…and besides, it can’t hurt…

  14. Mad Roy says:

Apply either vicks vaporub or tea tree oil to the nails each day after you bath or shower. You might want to file the thickened nails down to give the antifungal oils better penetration. Take oil of oregano capsules too; they are a powerful antifungal supplement.
    Good luck!
