To ease the agony I have to cut my nails every 2 weeks after dipping my feet in a tub of warm water for half an hour. Quite often it bleed. Have to wear big head shoe with 100 % cotton socks. I had an ingrown toenail for about 6 years before I went to the doctors. I tried everything, cutting the nail a different way, soaking it, so on and so on. The procedure wasn't too bad. Local anesthesia, 6 needles because I flinched for the last one. your doctor will give you a prescription for antibiotic. and then go back to get the stitch taken out. I hope that if it's bad and gets infected that you go to the doctors and have it dealt with soon. As much as you don’t want to go to the doctor, you may have to in the end.
