Toenail fungus is very hard to cure because it’s hard to treat under the nail. It’s basically the same type of infection as athlete’s foot and you need to use a proper anti-fungal treatment. Some home cures might seem to work for a bit but the fungus can survive as long as there is even a small trace of it.
I recommend using a treatment designed for treating toenail fungus – and remember it takes a long time to cure a toenail so the sooner you start the better.
There are all kinds of things you can do to improve the chances of getting rid of the fungus and this site list quite a lot of good ideas – like using a hairdryer on your toes – it sounds crazy but it really helps… plus it list some different treatments.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar! I get mine at my local natural foods store, but many super stores have organic sections that sell it. Soak your feet in a tub with 1/2 cup of AVC and enough water to cover your feet every night until gone. It really works! Make sure you always wear clean socks with your shoes. Disinfect any shoes that you may have worn without socks. If your interested go check out this terrific site Earthclinic.com.
