What is causing pain along the TOP of my foot?

I have pain up the top of my foot, from ankle area down to the toes. My shoes are not too tight and my arch seems OK, any ideas what could be causing this? Most site concentrate on the bottom of the foot pain.

Did someone step on it? Maybe some broken bones?

you could see a podiatrist..they know everything there is to know about feet…

I know for me when the top of my foot hurts its because I have done a new exercise or some new activity that I haven't done in a while. Have you done anything new that you haven't done in a while. The other thing that would cause the pain for me in this area is walking too much or too long, especially when I haven't walked in a while. Just a few suggestions. Try putting an ice bag on it to see if it would help. Ice helps bring down inflamtion and pain.

possibly a stress fracture of the bone than runs from the big toe to the ankle. My son broke his after doing nothing more than jumping off a chair and landing flat footed. Try the RICE method for a few days to see if the pain reduces
    R-rest it
    I-ice it
    C- compression wrap
    E-elevate
