sounds like it could be what we call in the medical field a stress fracture. these are hairline fractures in the bone and can be linked with weakened cartilige, and tendons. most of us use our right foot as the dominant foot. we put lots of pressure on it, much more than we weigh. we do this because in the back of our heads, the dominant foot has never failed us. in some cultures, pain in the right foot is a sign of strength. however, on the flip side of western medicine, you may have an arch problem. wear a great pair of running shoes like Saucony. Wear these all the time for about three or four weeks. They work the arch as well as support it, and when the arch is supported, the top of the foot needs to compensate less. try it! oh, and there is nothing that needs to be done if it is indeed a stress fracture. they are usually so small, we don't even know we have them many times. and, use a epsom salt soak for the foot at night four times a week.
