I have flat feet and occasionally get muscle cramps in my feet by trying to compensate. (I always shift my weight to the outer sides of my feet.) I’m willing to invest in a good pair of running shoes that I can wear on a daily basis.
My flat feet aren’t severe, I don’t have back or knee problems from them, but it does bother my ankles when I let them lie flat.
go to an Asics dealer – they are the best running shoe by a long way
and have different shoes for needs
My sister is a runner and she gave me this site that she uses for running shoe information: http://www.therunningadvisor.com/running_shoes.html
I can’t remember what brand she purchased, but she has high arches and this site helped her.
I would really recommend going to a podiatrist and have them mold some orthotics for you. I have flat feet and I have had them before and they are great. They aren’t too expensive if you have good insurance.
But if you don’t want to go that route. Try the Adidas Supernova Sequence. They cost $95. They are great because it has technology that we correct the way to run/walk and that will definitely help foot pain. They come in a wide if you need it. I have a pair of these as well and they are great running shoes if you’re gonna run everyday.
