I broke my hip, it was repaired with a plate and screws. I have excruciating pain in my buttocks, groin, thigh and shin bone. My foot is also swollen. What the heck is going on?
Thanks,I do have an appointment with the doctor this week.

I agree, you must go back to your doctor ASAP. It could be infection but it could also be a blood clot.
have you gone back to the doctors, you shouldnt have swelling or pain, those are symptoms of infection,
go see him and tell him your symptoms
Hello love, I am SO sorry for your pain…I truly UNDERSTAND! Look, I just got my hip replaced Sept.11th. I am blessed because I healed really fast. Love, before I had it replaced, I went through 12 YEARS of CONSTANT pain. From the time I woke up, to the time I TRIED to go to sleep, I had pain! I was on every kind of pain medicine they could of safely put me on. I was on med's that a cancer patient would be on.What you can do is first feel your hip, and thigh . If it feels warm to the touch, there might be a chance of it being infected.Love, I hate to tell you this, but you will probably have pain in that leg for a LONG time…. Talk to your Doctor, let him know that you are having this pain, and get yourself on a PAIN MANAGEMENT program.
