I am literally back and forth with this, and it is giving so much anxiety (thinking about it all the time).
Here is some more info, I would appreciate if you gave me some more opinions/offerings.
I am 24 (I currently have a full time desk job and go to school).While the job isn’t terrible- I can’t stand sitting at a desk all day and I want to be a cop or firefighter, I even cops in the family to help in this process.
My bunions are bad – there genetic, all my brothers have them (not as worse as me). I can run alot with no pain, which I recently been testing more and more lately. Matter of fact, there is never any pain unless I put pressure on it (ex: bending it back/forward).
So why on earth should I get this surgery now? Why risk a chance of there not being a full recovery?
What is the pro, the fact that these bad bunions will get worse and not make me walk eventually? And in how many years, 5, 10, 20+?

I am not scared of the surgery at all to be completely honest, what I am scared of is the RECOVERY and that alone. But if there truly is a full recovery, I am all for getting it done now while I am young.

Well i am in high school and i am getting surgery on mine this year! i went to the doctor and he said it is better to do it when you are younger than older because when you are younger, the recovery runs much smoother and is quicker! i heard it hurts but it is worth it! i’m active and i’ll be on crutches or something for like a month or more…you’d probably have to take some time off work but if it is a desk job you could probably go back! get it done now why you have a desk job so you can be a cop or a fire fighter later! but mine hurt really bad, and they would probably just get worse if ya didn’t get them fixed now! i hope i helped ya a little!
Your just scared of the surgery, get it done and follow your dreams.
