This is not always easy. Did you check if you have other causes of neuropathy? Such as vitamins deficiency, toxins? There are old cheap medications that can work well.
You need to speak with your doctor for sure.

This is the Diabetes category and your question mentioned neuropathy, so I hope I'm correct in assuming you have diabetic neuropathy. And as you take Lyrica, I believe I'm correct in my assumption. How do you believe the edema is connected to this???

I don't know which which diuretic you take, as there are several. You should report this to your prescriber. You may need a dosage adjustment (for both the diuretic and the Lyrica) or may need to change the med (diuretic) altogether. Try to elevate your legs and feet as often as possible during the day and most of the time when you are at home. Avoid shoes, socks or clothing that bind.

i am type 1 diabetic, and i have minimal neuropathy. as far as the swelling goes, i fight it continuously. obviously, salty and processed foods are much higher in sodium than the natural or unprocessed foods. i take 40 mg of furosemide twice daily, but find that unless i can stay off of my feet and lie with my feet propped up above my heart, the swelling is continuous. i sleep with several pillows under my feet, so….usually by morning, i can see my ankles…then the day begins again..lol..i've had a kidney transplant, and had 5 vessel heart bypass and three stents. do u have any heart disease? that can make it harder for your heart to pump the fluid from the extremities. good blood sugar control can help improve the effects of neuropathy..kidney disease can also cause your body to retain fluids…obviously, you should discuss this with your own doctor who knows your history…good luck..i know how frustrating it must be for you.
