Thanks! My B-12 has been ck'd and is ok. I am not diabetic, but I *am* on cholesterol and BP meds, which I understand can cause some of the foot pain. My doctor says nothing can be done and I just have to live with it!!

A foot neuropathy is not a benign condition and can be mistaken for tons of other things. I agree with the other fellows in saying that a medical consultation is better than an Internet question to answer your interrogations.
Take an appointment with your M.D.
You should go see a doctor he is the only person legally allowed to diagnos.
Foot neuropathy happens when the circulation in the foot is impaired for some reason, either by a clot, or by diseases like diabetes. Check with your doctor for his advice.
Are you a diabetic? At any rate, a Dr. can prescribe meds that will help.
A neuropathy is a sustained abnormal sensation, or pain, arising from a nerve supplying a certain area (or areas). It is not caused by clots or interrupted blood supply – this is a VASCULopathy.
Diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency, post-shingles and other infections, heavy metal poisoning, syphilis, certain medications, and certain neurological conditions (eg multiple sclerosis) can cause neuropathies. Sometimes no definite cause is found.
