There are three main types of anesthesia: local, regional, and general.

Local anesthesia: the anesthetic drug is usually injected into the tissue to numb just the specific location of your body requiring minor surgery, for example, on the hand or foot.

Regional anesthesia: your anesthesiologist makes an injection near a cluster of nerves to numb the area of your body that requires surgery. You might be awake, or you may be given something to help you relax, sometimes called a sedative. There are several kinds of regional anesthesia. Two of the most frequently used are spinal and epidural anesthesia, which are produced by injections made with great exactness in the appropriate areas of the back. They are frequently preferred for childbirth and prostate surgery.

General anesthesia: you are unconscious and have no awareness or other sensations. There are a number of general anesthetic drugs. Some are gases or vapors inhaled through a breathing mask or tube and others are medications introduced through a vein. During anesthesia, you are carefully monitored, controlled and treated by your anesthesiologist. A breathing tube may be inserted through your mouth and frequently into the windpipe to maintain proper breathing during this period. The length and level of anesthesia is calculated and constantly adjusted with great precision. At the conclusion of surgery, your anesthesiologist will reverse the process and you will regain awareness in the recovery room.

No, you will not have a tube down your throat.

Local anesthesia numbs the area around the surgery site and you will feel no pain. You may fee slight tugging or something, but nothing that approaches pain.

I have had local anesthesia for a number of minor surgeries. It will be fine. Just put your worries aside and go with the flow to get your necessary surgery completed.

Local anesthesia is when you're awake you won't need the tube... But trust me it won't hurt... you'll just get a numb foot..

Local anesthesia means you'll likely get a needle in the foot, which will numb the area surrounding the bunion. You may or may not be sprayed or dabbed with a numbing agent first, to dull the needle stick site.

General anesthesia is where you're rendered unconscious. I've had oral surgery under general, without an ET tube, though they would have a hard time working around it. For major surgery, you would most likely be tubed.

yeah its awesome gas you up and you dream, unless its the dentist stuff then no, cuz i saw everything they did to me,and i still felt the drill in my nerve

i dont think there will be a tube, just tubes injected in your arm and the thumb thing that keeps track of your vitals

write on your bunion with sharpie: remove THIS
you dont wanna wake up missing your important, loved bunions

Local anthesia means they are just goin to give you a shot that numbs the area around the bunion. They will inject it several times in the area of the bunion Each shots burns a little at first then it goes numb. No worries, you will be awake for the whole procedure! You won't feel a thing!
