Foot Corn!?

How do you treat a corn on your foot? How do I know if it is infected? It kinda bleeds sometimes.

I know this may sound odd, but I wrapped mine with some gauze for 3-4 days saturated with olive oil and it peeled off after three days. Signs of infection are redness, swelling, and oozing of the wound area. If ever in doubt, see your doctor.

A corn is usually a piling up of dead skin – almost looks like a volcano usually on your baby toe. The center will be a core that causes it to be painful. A lot of the pain comes from the pressure of it back into the toe.
A corn pad with the medicated disk is usually enough to make it sluff off. The disk contains acetasalysilic acid (spelling sorry – same as aspirin).

If it sounds like what I described a piling up of dead skin with a core -then it is a corn. If it is only bleeding because you pick at it then the pads should work. If it is bleeding on its own spontaneously it is something else and you should see a doctor. A corn is dead skin so it should not bleed but the surrounding tissue will bleed if you are trying to pick or peel it off.

This may sound weird but after having this thing on your foot bugging and paining you it is fun to put the pad on, leave it for three days and then just peel the sucker off – big hunk of dead skin.
