Your presentation will determine the course of treatment. Plantar fasciitis can be caused because of several different reasons. I have treated hundreds of patients with plantar fasciitis and have had excellent results and outcomes. I would recommend getting a referral to a physical therapist who is experienced in foot problems and orthopedics. They will perform a full examination including a biomechanical assessment to determine what is causing your symptoms. Other problems can mimic the symptoms of plantar fasciitis so you need to make sure that is what you have.

You need to see pedorthist and get fitted for a good pair of shoes. This is the most important thing you can do.

make sure you do some stretching when you get up in morning, some toe touching,or if you have stairs, let your heels kinda fall down over a step then come back up on toes, it stretches everything, get a really good pair of shoes, your gonna have to spend some money, then get to doctor and have him cast your feet for insoles they really help-ask for therapy it helps to, but yes it is-very painful especially if your on your feet all day, its almost impossible

Just went to my doctor recently with the same problem. He gave me some information that was very helpful; rest your feet when you can, take ibuprofen for a few days for the inflammation, stretch your feet muscles. It usually gets worse with weight gain, too much activity and wearing poor quality shoes. Get better shoes (maybe some heel pads too) and try to lighten your activity for a bit and see if that and plenty of water can help. Good luck.

I had this problem myself and can remember how horrible it was.i went to physio, took anti-inflammatories and got orthotics. In the end all though all these things are correct to help it was 2 shots in my foot, the second one done by a specialist with feet etc and he gave the injection and I always said i would be honest, Yes it was about the most painful needle I have ever had but 8 days after getting it i got up and walked but I am careful to stretch that foot all the time. You do not want that back ever again. You may have a bone spur in your heel but believe me it is the long cord at the bottom of your foot you must get stretched..to prevent the pain

How long have you had it? If it is acute, then get to a physiotherapist for treatment.
If it is chronic, then get to see a pedorthist. They are able to help you.
