I just got my stitches out two days ago and the wound is bleeding. Not pouring blood but enough to bleed through band aids onto my jock a few drops.
The doctor said to stop doing the prescribed exercises of moving the toe back and forth, which I have stopped, but it is still bleeding.
I am have been being very careful with it, icing it and keeping it elevated.
Is this a normal? Did the Dr take the stitches out too soon. Does anyone have experience with this?
Put neosporin on it if it doesnt stop after three or four days go back to the doctor, be sure to put a band aid over it! Get well!!!
It’s not uncommon for the wound to ooze a little after suture removal. Although it’s possible that they were removed a little early, usually they come out at about 2 weeks. If you’re really concerned, call the doctor again. Otherwise, keep it covered with a light bandage and some antibiotic cream. Good Luck!
