Yes.
Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is associated with diabetes too. I had nerve damage in my hands long before I got it in my feet. My undiagnosed diabetes was probably the cause of my CTS.
You need to get your blood sugar under tight control to stop this from getting any worse.

Educate yourself and make the changes you need to, to get things under control.
definatly in your feet
Yes, but unlikely. Need to rule out other causes like thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis and amyloidosis (also affects can effect kidney, heart and virtually any other organ). A few simple blood tests can rule these things out.
I am a diabetic, and I have neuropathy on my scalp and not my feet.
I too have neuropathy in my hands!!
I went to the doctor with a numb patch that hurt like the devil on my knee! That was when I was diagnosed with diabetes almost 15 years ago.
Each of us is a very unique individual and diabetes treats each of us very uniquely and individually. what works or harms one may be the total opposite for their friend.
Absolutely. WHERE you have it is almost random. I first noticed it on patches on my back. Just wearing a shirt made my skin itch!
It is not WHERE you get the neuropathy that is important, it is that you HAVE neuropathy that is important!
neuropathy is usually one of the last signs to develop — and it indicates that your diabetes has been way out of control for a LONG time! The fact is, if you keep your blood sugars under control, the neuropathy will go away, and may never develop!
Having neuropathy means that you HAVE BEEN VERY ILL FOR A LONG TIME! You MUST get those blood sugars under control before you lose your eyesight, or need fingers, toes, hands, feet, and even legs amputated. Considering that sex is about 90% nerve ending — neuropathy WILL destroy your ability to have sex!
Adn since you have neuropathy, you ARE doing damage to the rest of your system, Serious heart disease has probably already developed, as well as high blood pressure, leading to heart attacks and strokes. You may already have non-reversible kidney disease which could lead to a lifetime on dialysis.
GO TO YOUR DOCTOR! You are in SERIOUS trouble, and need to have this looked into NOW. Call you doctor and get the first possible appointment for next week! DON;T WAIT! EVery day you wait could be one step closer to being hospitalized — or dead.
Hello
Yes, it’s very possible to get neuropathy in your hands before your feet. I found more information at the following site: http://www.neuropathydiabetic.com/
