Anyone heard of Shock Neuropthy?Have fractured toe& alot of pain on top of foot. Podiatrist called Shock Neuro

I have Planter's Facitis and went to Dr. to have blister on leg lanced. (Have alot of water and am taking 2 water pills along with other meds and insultin. Mentioned to him that my arches were really hurting from Planters. He took foot x-ray and say fractured toe. Said sign of Shock Neuropathy being Diabetic as I am. He said he hoped not a sign that I was going to have it and that we needed to try and get my toe to heal. I am now wearing a boot when I do any kind of walking or standing; I've never heard of such a thing. Any know anything about this or have any ideas? Thanks so much!! Deb

I think they are talking about Charcot foot..this is something that diabetics can have…small fractures in the foot, swelling of the foot, and the fractures cause changes in the structure of the foot if not treated correctly when they happen.(you should not keep walking on the foot. you might have the foot "drop" because of it..the sole of the foot and then you have to worry about pressure points and nerve damage or numbness on the bottom of the foot…best to be aware of this and if you have symtoms…go see the Dr right away to get the best treatment before it could get worse….

i'm not familiar with that particular condition, i work in podiatry office, are you maybe talking about peripheral neuropathy or Morton's neuroma? there are some simple solutions for plantar fasciitis and the toe fracture does take some time to heal. why don't you try a great website regarding foot conditions that also has a discussion forum that a doctor weighs in on, myfootshop.com. you can use the source as direct link to articles that may be helpful.
