Am I too young to have Bunion surgery and Flat Feet surgery?

I'm 15 going on 16 in one month and I have developed Bunions on both of my feet(I know gross, but extremely painful) since I already have flat feet I managed to get it. But I am in sooo much pain because of my normal foot pain and now the bunion pain. My Orthopedic is trying different things for now but it's really not working,I'm starting to get back, knee, and stomach pains now. I don't know what to do.
Should I get the surgery? He says he will take about 6months to recover or a year because he would not only fix the bunion but he would also fix my flat feet.
AH! What should I do?

It is actually better to get bunions taken care of early – if you plan on having surgery it is better t get it now rather than when you are much older. I would see a podiatrist and get his/her opinion. Sometime orthopedists are narrow mined about certain conditions. A podiatrist will also know if you are bad enough for surgery.

As far as flat feet, try orthotics and get them a good try, not just a day or two, Use the instructions you get and do not over do it the first week or two – you have to work them in. Also, wear supportive shoes as much as possible.

I could help you correct your flat feet not requiring surgery. You just need to follow an exercise regimen for various months. I’ve already helped several individuals correct this condition. As for your bunions, you may require surgery. Not having flat feet, though, would not add that much pressure on your toes worsening the bunion.
