after bunion surgery?

I had bunion surgery 5 weeks ago still have a post surgical shoe and also a pin sticking out of my big toe.did anybody ever have a pin in there toe.Does it hurt to remove it?

    You are still healing. Bunion surgery, a bunionectomy, involves cutting the bone and then realigning it often with pins or screws. I would follow up with the doctor that did your surgery. It is common to have a follow-up 1-3 weeks after surgery. If you are having stiffness and pain with walking I would recommend asking for a referral to see a Physical Therapist to address these problems. If they are not addressed now they will only cause more problems in the future.

    my mom got it done, and they put pins in it. just stay off your foot, and you’ll be fine. she said that it did hurt when they took it out, but they might be able to inject a local anesthesia into the toe.
