This is a very painful nerve condition of the feet. I guess there is a surgery to help take out the extra tissue, but she doesn’t have any insurance as of right now. Is there anything else- herbs?- for ex. that can help? She won’t take any pills. She already has fibro myalgia and won’t take anything for that, but she is willing to try an herb if it is safe and will help. (((And as for the smart asses that like to answer just to see their name in the spot light , or have nothing better to do then put on more pounds and less brain activity by sitting on the computer 24-7, you will be comletely ignored for you mor-off tendencies. I say more off because you are obviously more off then more-on))). Thank you VERY MUCH for the ones that are trying to help and make this site a useful tool for the rest of us. Your answers will be greatly appreciated by all of us seeking help from the ones that are serious on here.
I am so sorry that your sister is experiencing this condition. I suffer with fibromyalgia and can sympathize with her there. As for the Morton Neuroma, I have heard that acupuncture can help but that seems like it would be expensive. She could try padding and taping to disperse weight away from the neuroma. If she has flat feet, an arch support is incorporated. She would have to wear shoes with wide toe boxes and avoid shoes with high heels. Her doctor would see her back after a week or 2 to monitor progress. If the pain has been relieved, the neuroma is probably small and caused by the structure of her foot and the type of shoes the she wears. It can be relieved by a custom-fitted orthotic that helps maintain the foot in a better position.
I hope that helps.
I have the same thing. I never had surgery. I just stopped wearing high heels and tight shoes. Now I mostly wear Crocs and Birkenstocks and haven’t had a problem since.
I wish your sister well!
I have that. It will take a bit of cash but specially fitted shoe inserts can be made by a podiatrist that will relieve the pressure on the part of the foot (usually the toe) that is painful.
It can be pricey, particularly if she likes to wear different pairs of shoes. Not sure if one insert will fit more than one pair of shoes. It is made by taking a mold of your feet (both so you’re not lopsided) and the shoes you want to wear them in.
I feel her pain – literally. A good pair of insoles will help. Won’t cure it but will help. I use the New Balance Athletic insoles and another pair by "Superfeet". Have spent over $600 on orthodics that gave me more pain than before.
She needs good supportive shoes as well. Cheap shoes even with the insoles won’t do her any favours. She needs to go to a good shoe store and be fitted properly.
I also see a chiropractor who does adjustments on my feet. It helps for awhile but only lasts a couple of weeks. I think surgery will be in my future as well. I have heard that acupuncture is another alternative. I haven’t tried it yet because of the expense but right now I am seriously considering it.
