I have had pain in the second and third toe when walking – had several shots to ease the pain from the foot doctor. Next step would be to remove the neroma (which is a tumor touching the nerve) HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROCEDURE DONE. I was told you have to go under anethesia and the foot healing is only 3 weeks – is that true since it is my driving foot >
No foot surgery (sorry). Yes, approximately around 3 to 6 weeks is the healing time. Cortisone injections, no more than three, may be tried if relief hasn’t been obtained with oral medication and switching shoes. If these fail, the neuroma can be removed surgically. The operation usually leaves a region of skin on the foot permanently numb. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
