Hammertoe Surgery?

I have been to 2 different foot doctors, and one said that they would have to put a rod in my two different toes, and the other saif that all they would do is remove part of the bone. The first doc said that I would have to be off my feet for 6 weeks and the other one said that I would be able to walk the same day as the surgery. Who do i believe? Websites, advice…..please?

One Response to Hammertoe Surgery?

I have hammertoe, severe bunions and calluses. I go to a podiatrist. He has wanted to do surgery on my feet but he told me the healing period would be 4 to 6 weeks. He never mentioned a rod for the hammertoe. We are using the conservative method for I am immunesuppressed and have a serious autoimmune problem that prevents me from having elective surgery.
