I inverted my ankle on Saturday night while walking. The pain and bruising didn’t develop until monday and I could barely walk. On tuesday I could no linger bear any weight on it. Its been 8 days since i injured it and i can still barely put any weight on it. i stopped taking motrin a couple of days ago but I may start back up. The swelling hardened and is around the ankle bone with most of the pain coming from right behind the bone and the achilles. the bruising is right on top of the bone. the pain is painful to the touch. Im a 28 yr old male and I play in 3 different highly competitive bball leagues and train/workout 4-5 times a week. any suggestions besides getting an xray??? Ive never broken a bone and i hurt my ankle walking on uneven curb slowly. i have very elastic ligaments. 2 acl surgeries, 2 herniated discs, many shoulder dislocations Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You need to have it xrayed whether you want to or not, you could of fractured it . Hope you do so soon, because the longer you wait & if it fractured, it may not heal properly & keep you from playing your sports ever.
